Multi-Path Room - Add and Manage DNS Resolvers
This article goes over the process to configure and manage a Domain Name System (DNS) resolver in a Multi-Path Room, a Tehama Room with network access type 'Multi-Path'.
See the Multi-Path Room Connectivity User Guide for more information on Multi-Path Rooms.
Overview
Add DNS resolvers to your Room, in order for your Room to convert domain names from your connected networks to IP addresses.
Note: DNS resolvers are optional in a Multi-Path Room. Without any DNS resolvers, the Room will be constrained to provide access for the resources and assets through their DNS server IP addresses.
Each resolver consists of:
- a name, that you give it
- a set of one or more DNS server IP addresses, such as 198.51.100.0.
- a set of one or more domains, such as "example.com"
When a user in any of the Room's Desktops attempts to reach one of the domains in the resolver, the Room will resolve it to one of the servers in the DNS resolver.
Configuring a DNS resolver is as simple as adding an entry consisting of a set of domains and DNS server IPs to your Multi-Path Room:
You can view and edit a resolver entry's details, remove domains from the entry, and delete the entire resolver:
- View DNS Resolver Details
- Edit a DNS Resolver
- Delete a Domain from a DNS Resolver
- Delete a DNS Resolver
