Tehama provides organizations a means to create Rooms which can be configured to give team members secure access to specific resources. Up until recently, the configuration options included internet-only, wherein access rules are determined by firewall rules or by a Tehama Gateway connection which creates a channel between the Room and connected organization and delivers all network traffic to the organization.
Tehama has now added a multi-path option which leverages the IPsec protocol to establish multiple connections between a Room and the organization’s applications and services, regardless of location (Datacenter, Cloud Providers, Hosting centers), including the internet.
Multi-path Rooms allow a single Room to be connected to multiple target networks or subnets. This means that, when resources needed by a group of users are located in different data centers or governed by different groups, only one Room is required in order to provide access to these resources. This reduces the number of Rooms required to give users access to the resources they need to do their work, which reduces Room costs and administrative overhead.
The new option does not require the installation of the Tehama Gateway; the connection can be established using an organization’s existing infrastructure. Multi-path Rooms allow direct connections onto common network equipment in customer environments including standard commercial off the shelf products, as well as allowing direct connections to major cloud providers.
When multiple Rooms require access to the same target network, the same infrastructure can be used to establish the connection, rather than needing to manage a gateway for each Room. These capabilities increase compatibility with an existing infrastructure and reduce the effort involved in setting up connectivity between a Room and the corporate network.
